Thanks for looking at my services - you've already made such a brave first step. Together we can make positive changes for the rewarding future you really do deserve.
I complement structured treatments with acknowledgment, empathy and complete, unconditional acceptance.
I practice two well established and effective therapies: CBT is a wonderful, short term, structured therapy effective for all ages, and DBT is a longer term option, effective for higher level mental health in adults.

Depression, stress, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience in our lives. Through educating my clients about their brains and teaching life-long strategies to support self-worth, confidence and esteem, we are able to recover motivation, perspective, and the joy of life that we all deserve to feel.
These are behaviours that cause problems at home or work for more than 6 months. Symptoms may include impulsivity, inattention, hyperactivity, defiance, substance abuse and criminal activity.
Examples of behavioural disorders are Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. These may have manifested due to a difficult childhood, traumatic events or negative influences.
You may need support in dealing with emotions which lead to the problematic behaviours. You may be neglecting family, work, friends, financial issues or your health. You may not even see a problem, but someone close to you has suggested something is amiss.
Please be assured that there are ways that we can work
through these emotions, feelings and unwanted behaviours together.
Someone with a personality disorder (diagnosed or undiagnosed) may feel different from others in terms of thoughts, feelings and relationships. This contrasting perception to others may lead to paranoia, distorted beliefs, unusual behaviours and a feeling of disconnect. This can bring about shame, blame, distress, avoiding people, lies and general negativity in everyday life. Examples are Borderline Personality Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorder.
If this sounds like you, please do understand that you are not alone (around 1 in 20 people in the UK are thought to have a personality disorder). There are many strategies we can work on to help you understand yourself better, accept your uniqueness and then work towards changing things that are holding you back from living a fulfilled life. Such as how to navigate relationships, dealing with unwanted thoughts and making choices that are best for you.
A mood disorder may be due to an imbalance of brain chemicals and will usually run in the family or be the result of some difficult experiences. This is usually a prolonged feeling of depression and hopelessness. Depending on presentation, it may be diagnosed as Bi-Polar Disorder, Clinical Depression or Seasonal Affective Disorder. Symptoms may also present in conjunction with another health condition such as cancer, injury or infection, or alongside a substance abuse.
Symptoms such as low self-esteem, disinterest in others, changes in appetite, feelings of inadequacy, sensitivity to failure or rejection will increase in intensity over time and may interfere considerably with family, work and health.
Your GP will be a major role in diagnosing these challenges and possibly medicating.. However, CBT can be very effective as a complementary therapy.
Disordered eating sits between normal eating and an eating disorder. It may include symptoms and behaviours of eating disorders, but at a lesser frequency or with lower severity.
Disordered eating may include restrictive eating, compulsive eating, or irregular or inflexible eating patterns.
Eating disorders lead to an unhealthy preoccupation with food and body size, weight or shape. These include bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, binge eating disorder. CBT is effective for these difficulties.
I support clients who may be experiencing challenges with a partner, spouse or maybe a family member. You may feel misunderstood, neglected or let down by a loved one. Or maybe you may feel unable to articulate your emotions effectively or talk without anger.
I can teach you how to identify and acknowledge unhelpful thoughts that lead to big, uncontrolled emotions and impulsive behaviours. We can then practice techniques which allow you to analyse and revaluate thoughts, stopping the chain reaction before the emotion and unwanted behaviours take place.
It takes time and practice but we can work it out together.
Many of us may experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you recognise what is holding you back, overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of healing and feeling the confidence to move forward at your own pace.
Whether its the loss of a loved one, idol or beloved pet, grief can feel impossible to navigate. The sudden absence of a special person can cause distressing feelings of grief abandonment and make us question everything. We know that the stages of grief are 'normal' but that doesn't help us with the very raw and painful emotions that we have to deal with 'in the moment'. I support my clients in acknowledging, understanding and accepting these big emotions, guiding them through the process of
slowly and securely moving forward.
We live in an extremely diverse and openminded country regarding sexuality, yet it can still feel impossible to fully accept oneself, feel accepted by others or feel you have found your true place in the world.
This can sometimes be due to your own confusion surrounding your sexuality, but may also be heavily influenced by society, stigma and media.
I can offer you my undivided support in navigating your journey, offering both cognitive and practical insights into how to allow yourself be authentically and proudly you!
